JAMESTOWN, N.C. -- An Amtrak train traveling from New York City to Charlotte hit a vehicle on Oakdale Street in Jamestown around 6:40 p.m. Sunday. That's according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the car drove around the lowered crossing arms. The driver and passenger were able to get out of the car before the train hit it.
Nobody was injured.
