WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Frigid temperatures headed towards the Triad are causing concerns at Bethesda Center shelter in Winston-Salem, and your help is needed.

The shelter does not have the same funding as last year, and the need for volunteers has grown.  A lot of churches have stepped up to make up for the lack of funds, but right now, volunteers are most important.

"We could really use help during our business hours, which are 8-5, doing door greeting, working as receptionists, answering the phones and doing some housework," says Shelter director Carl Potter.

They're looking for volunteers interested in the night shift to help check visitors to make sure the shelter is safe from weapons and drugs.

If you're interested, you can call the Bethesda Center at 722-9951.
