Police: Woman Issued Fake Prescriptions For More Than 3000 Pills

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Winston-Salem Police say they have arrested an Ardmore Family Practice personnel employee after she issued fraudulent prescriptions for more than 3000 pills.

Police said their investigation revealed Jannette Lynn AHMED, 43 of Winston-Salem,  issued fraudulent prescriptions for 1,260 pills of Hydrocodone and 2,670 pills of Tramadol.

Officers told WFMY News 2 the prescriptions were passed by AHMED at a local pharmacy over the period of several months.

AHMED is charged with 11 counts of Trafficking in Opiates, 11 counts Obtaining Controlled Substance by Fraud, 24 counts Obtaining Prescription Medication by Fraud, and 35 counts of Identity Theft.

She is currently being held under a $5,000,000.00 bond at the Forsyth County Detention Center.
