Video: Know Where the Hottest Items are Located in the Store

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Most chain stores are offering a lot of deals to sift through as we make our way to Black Friday. Many of those deals are available on your smartphone.

Some stores are trying out unique ways to help you save some money and entice you into spending. "We have a lot of really great apps out right now," said Hannah Rose Clary, of Target.

The store is trying out a new app this year called Cartwheel.
" Look up any sort of coupon that we may have, we also have something that's called a "double dip" so whatever is on-ad, plus whatever we have a coupon for," said Clary.

It's a deal you can only get on your phone. The original Target app might also help you save.
"You can also look at our weekly ads, just search coupons and deals," said Clary.

At Best Buy, they're encouraging shoppers to check out their app, before coming to the store.

"Get all the information, all the important details about the products ahead of time so when you come in here, you may already know what you want to get," said Chris Neyenhouse, of Best Buy.

The Best Buy app offers a deal of the day and clearance items, both are specific to each store.
"It's just one product that they don't normally have on sale that they put on sale," said Neyenhouse.

The store is now offering bonus points for their rewards program if you "check-in" on your phone while shopping.

Shoppers can also compare prices using apps.  If they find a lower price, stores may match it.  Target and Walmart do.

Knowing where to look can be a challenge, that's why now is the best time to familiarize yourself with the various ads. Downloading an app for each store you're interested in can take a lot of time.

There are several apps that do the work for you:

SaleSorter lets you see which stores in your local area are having sales. It also allows you to customize the stores you can see.

FatWallet allows you to search deals by store, category or popular items. You can then purchase the item through a specific store website or through the FatWallet checkout.

DealNews has a Black Friday app with a search function that lets you look for deals a day in advance.

Hukkster gives you updates when your favorite stores begins a sale and markdowns and will also give you coupon codes.
