GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro police say someone shot at multiple vehicles and two occupied homes early Friday morning on Oberlin Drive. Police say the shooting was not gang-related, but also was not random.
A 9-year-old boy and his parents were inside one of the homes during the shooting. However, the shots didn't hit anyone. Neighbors say the individuals fired nearly 100 bullets.
The incident happened in the 3200 block. Police are currently searching for an early 2000s silver Monte Carlo which might have been involved.
Police are investigating this incident and trying to find out who fired the shots. Anyone with information should call (336) 373-1000.
Greensboro Police Corporal Adam Deal said the shooting happened in a well-established neighborhood that does not frequently have these kinds of crimes occurring.
"We would obviously ask that the public remain vigilant and keep a strong eye out for anything suspicious in the area," Corporal Deal said. "The investigators feel that this case was perpetrated by suspects who were targeting a specific residence. It wasn't a random act of violence."
