FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. --If you saw heavy smoke coming from the Smith Reynolds Airport Saturday, it was all part of a drill.
Forsyth County Emergency Services along with multiple public safety agencies conducted a disaster-response drill. Emergency crews were in the air from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents in the area also saw a large volume of emergency response traffic and aircraft in the area. Crews ignited a large fire for the exercise.
