GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Dust off those ice skates, because the WFMY News 2 Winterfest is back for another year!

One of the Triad's most popular outdoor skating rinks opened Wednesday, Nov. 20, and will run through Saturday, Feb. 1. 

The 65-foot by 85-foot WFMY News 2 Winterfest rink is located at 200 N. Davie St., adjacent to the Greensboro Culture Center. And all new this year: a 120 foot ice roller coaster!

Hours of operation:

While school is in session, the rink will operate 4-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 4-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. -10 p.m. Saturday and 12-7 p.m. Sunday.

During school holidays, the rink will be open all day from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Admission to the rink, including skates, will be $10 per person for two hours of skating.

Admission also includes unlimited trips down the ice roller coaster during the two-hour time frame. Groups of 15 or more can skate for $8 per person Sundays through Thursdays.

Special mid-week $8 discount nights will be available and advertised on the event website. Private rink rental times are also available for parties and corporate events before or after public skating hours.

This event also gives WFMY News 2 the opportunity to build excitement for the return of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 2015."
