HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The High Point Market is back in town.
And, thousands of people from more than one hundred countries will be in High Point this week for the trade show.
Some of the season's newest furniture and accessories will be on display at the market, and those new designs could go from the showroom floor to a retailer near you.
The High Point market is the second largest furniture trade show in the world. Local manufacturers say it means jobs for our area.
"During the market, we actually employ additional people," said Len Burke of Klaussner Home Furnishings. "This is our chance to sell, and selling furniture means our factories are working and they create more jobs as well."
Klaussner is an Asheboro manufacturer, celebrating 50 years of business this year. And, the company is partnering with local artist Bill Mangum for its new "Carolina Preserves" collection as part of the celebration.
"To partner with a company like Klaussner is just once in a lifetime," said Mangum. "It's a privilege - to be honest with you - because it gives me a new canvas to paint on."
The High Point Market started Saturday and will be in town until Thursday.
