WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Legendary golfer, Arnold Palmer, delivered the 5 millionth Meals-on-Wheels meal in Forsyth County on Friday.
The Wake Forest University alum drove a golf cart to the home. Palmer signed autographs and spoke with local and national media, including the Golf Channel and ESPN. In his honor, a statue of Arnold Palmer will be unveiled at Wake Forest Friday evening.
The meal Palmer delivered consisted of pork loin, lima beans, mandarin oranges, sweet potato casserole, a dinner role and milk.
Meals-on-Wheels started in 1962 in Forsyth County. The program helps elderly residents throughout the county.
