HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. -- Wake County Animal Control euthanized dozens of sick and feral cats rescued from a Holly Springs home last week, according to a report from WRAL-TV.
Police and animal control seized 42 cats from a home in the 400 block of North Main Street. Officers said there was a foul odor coming from the home and noted there were vultures outside.
An animal control spokesperson told WRAL the cats had to be euthanized because of their poor conditions.
Investigators said nobody was home when they came by with a warrant to take the cats, but charges are pending against the resident.
