2 Arrested In Winston-Salem Woman's Shooting Death After Break-In

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-- Police in Winston-Salem found a woman dead inside a house after responding to a home break-in call. 

Police officers were dispatched around 11:30 p.m. Thursday to the 700 block of Magnolia Street, after getting a 911 call about a break-in in progress, involving armed suspects. Investigators said information they received made them believe the suspects were still inside the house, and the SWAT Unit was activated.

After officers failed to make contact with anyone in the house, SWAT officers went inside and found a woman dead from gunshot wounds.

Detectives have identified the woman as Shelia Pace Gooden.

Three people have been arrested and charged Daniel Aaron Benson, Steven George Assimos and Anthony Vinh Nguyen. All three are charged with: First Degree Murder, First Degree Burglary, First Degree Kidnapping and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

The case is still under investigation.
