RALEIGH-- Someone in Greensboro is a millionaire. That's because, the person matched all five white balls in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing.
North Carolina Education Lottery Officials said the ticket was sold at the Fairway One Stop on South Elm Eugene Street. The ticket's owner beat odds of 1 in 5.1 million to win the $1 million prize.
There are also three other lucky winners who could collect $10,000 each. Those tickets matched four white balls and the red Powerball. The tickets were purchased at: the Wilco on MLK Jr. Boulevard in Chapel Hill, the Travel Store on John Small Avenue in Washington and at the Sheetz on Thornton Road in Raleigh.
Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prizes.
For the drawing on Saturday, October 12, the Powerball jackpot is $133 million.
