ARCHDALE, N.C. - Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference.
An Archdale woman created dolls to bring a little joy and comfort to women going through a scary time.
Sherry Nance created "Rady Lady" to help women battling breast cancer and to remind all women to get a mammogram.
The doll is a lamb which stands for "Ladies Aware of Mammogram Benefits."
Nance came up with the idea while working at an imaging center. She says she wanted the women coming in for mammograms to feel comfortable.
She calls the dolls "cozy and soft" - a stark difference from the hard and cold machines at the imaging center.
"The women tells us they just bring a sense of relief, they put it on their night stand, it just makes them feel secure so it always makes me smile and feel better for even bringing them to life," said Nance.
This is not a business venture for Nance. She only keeps enough money to purchase more dolls-- and gives the rest to breast cancer awareness and research organizations.
