High Point, NC -- We have a lot of claims to fame in the Triad. Some of them include several pieces of history, but the High Point Museum needs your help to preserve them.

Teresa Loflin, with the High Point Museum, joined the Good Morning Show crew on Monday to explain the artifacts and how you can help.

Loflin said there are five artifacts that need to be preserved.  One artifact is a sample chest of drawers, which was built in the early 1900's.

They also need to preserve a satchel owned by Edward Curtwright, track shoes worn in the 1936 Summer Olympics, a silver megaphone presented to the High Point Fire Chief in 1908 and a silver trophy awarded to Carolina Container.

It could cost thousands of dollars to preserve all of the artifacts, so the Museum is hosting an event this weekend to raise money.

"History Rocks" is on Saturday, October 5 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the High Point Museum.

There will be fun for the whole family, including bands, a petting zoo, face painting, tours and even food trucks.  Admission is free.
