HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Open Door Ministries of High Point and Church World Service held their 30th annual CROP Hunger Walk Sunday afternoon. The walk started at Wesley Memorial Church.
Their goal was to raise $37,500 through 750 walkers.
Donations from each walker helps Open Door Ministries continue their mission to help the homeless and less fortunate in High Point through programs such as Father's Table. This program provides more than 130,000 meals a year and stocks a food pantry that serves up to 200 families a month.
Church World Service also takes a portion of the money raised from walks nationwide to provide food, medical care, and disaster relief for needy people around the world.
