Police Arrest 2 In Connection To UNCG Student's Assault

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Two suspects have been arrested for assaulting a student at UNCG nearly two weeks ago.

Police said the student was assaulted in the late hours of September 11, in the Peabody Park area. The student told police two men took his bag and two cell phones.

Another student told police he saw three people taking items from the music building before the assault. Two of the men matched the description of the assailants, according to UNCG police.

On Monday, officers arrested Gerquan Tyquise McLaurin and Derrick Jarell Streeter in connection to the assault. They were charged with Robbery, Breaking and Entering, Aggravated Assault, Felony Larceny and Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. They were taken to the Guilford County Jail under a $10,000 bond.

Police are looking for another possible suspect.
