GREENSBORO, N.C. -- WFMY News 2's Food 2 Families is teaming up with Leadership Greensboro Seniors, Well-Spring Retirement Community and area grocery stores for a food drive to benefit Greensboro Urban Ministry.

This emergency fall food drive will help restock the agency's shelves.

Over two weekends, September 27-29, and October 4-5, hundreds of volunteers from more than 50 congregations and organizations across Greensboro will collect nonperishable food donations at area grocery stores and other locations:

•Whole Foods (Friendly Center) - September 27,28,29,30
•Harris Teeter  (Greensboro Stores) - September 28,29
•Lowes Foods (Greensboro Stores) - October 4,5
•Food Lion (Greensboro Stores) - October 5

Also, look for the Greensboro Urban Ministry food collection boxes where you can leave your donations when volunteers aren't present.

According to Rev. Mike Aiken, "this past summer has been the most difficult for those in need that I have witnessed over my 28 years serving as Executive Director of Greensboro Urban Ministry. Your support is so critical during these most demanding times. We are resupplying our food bank shelves with food following a demanding summer of need.
