ASHEBORO, N.C. -- Police in Asheboro arrested two men who they say robbed a restaurant using a gun and a knife.

Officers responded to an armed robbery call around 9:37 p.m. Monday at Tokyo Express on E. Dixie Dr.

Employees told the officers that two men came inside and demanded money. They said one suspect was armed with a knife and the other was armed with a gun.

The suspects ran out after taking an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

A Randolph County sheriff's deputy who was in the area investigating a suspicious car call, stopped a vehicle in the area. During that traffic stop, it was determined the men were the ones who allegedly robbed the Tokyo Express.

Asheboro police said they found evidence in the car which included a gun, knife, bandannas and property belonging to the restaurant inside the suspects' car.

As a result, deputies charged Matthew Olson and Ryan Mullins, both of Asheboro, with one count each of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

Olson was booked into the Randolph County Jail under a $5,000 bond and Mullins was given a $10,000 bond and electronic house arrest.
