KERNERSVILLE, N.C. -- Police in Kernersville have identified the 58-year-old woman who died in a single-vehicle wreck on I-40 West on Tuesday morning.
Investigators said Barbara Williams Worthington died from her injuries after she was ejected from a Ford Ranger. Worthington was the only passenger in the vehicle.
Officers said Barbara Roseboro MOCK [sic], 66, was driving the vehicle and wrecked at mile marker 202. She was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment.
The Kernersville Police Department said in a statement that alcohol did not appear to be a factor. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol told WFMY News 2 the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
NCHSP said MOCK lost control of the vehicle and went off the road to the left. The vehicle rolled across both westbound lanes before colliding with a guard rail face, according to the police department.
