Greensboro, NC --  A ceramic potter in Greensboro is receiving national attention.  Lindsay Emery's pieces have appeared in several books and magazines, including Southern Living Magazine and Food and Wine Magazine.

"I feel really fortunate that things have fallen into place," said Emery from her small home studio in the Lindley Park neighborhood.

Emery started her business, Suite One Studio, in 2009.  She makes what she calls modern handmade tableware.  She creates pieces such as cups, bowls, plates, platters, vases and cake stands.  Each piece takes about two to three weeks to complete.

Her color palette is filled with plenty of pastels.  Each piece is one of a kind.

"The little touches of my hands, I'm able to go in and alter the rims of every bowl so each bowl isn't the same. It's not perfectly round. No two are alike," explains Emery.

The exposure will continue later this year.  Southern Living Magazine is scheduled to feature Emery and her work in its November issue.

Suite One Studio pieces can be found at Just Be in downtown Greensboro.  You can also find them on Emery's website.
