GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Police in Greensboro say an impaired driver crashed into an EMS vehicle during Labor Day weekend.
Officers received a call about an unresponsive person in a vehicle on Gallimore Dairy Road near I-40 early Saturday morning.
First responders said the driver, Christopher Sean Dow, was "incapacitated from an impairing substance." EMS was called to evaluate his condition.
When Dow woke up, police said he tried to drive away, but crashed into the EMS vehicle, parked about 30 feet away. According to the police report, Dow was driving at approximately 15 miles per hour at the time of the crash.
Officers took a blood sample and subsequently charged Dow with DWI.
Police estimate the damage done to Dow's vehicle was about $1,800 and about $3,000 of damage for the EMS vehicle.
