LAKE NORMAN, N.C. -- Divers searched overnight for a person who fell off a boat on the main channel of Lake Norman, according to a report from CBS-affiliate WBTV.
Dive teams were unable to find the person and suspended their search in the early morning hours Monday. They are expected to resume soon.
Fire crews from Charlotte, Cornelius and Huntersville were called to the area reported where the person went into the water Sunday night, near exit 28 off I-77. Dive teams used the boat ramps behind the Rusty Rudder restaurant.
Charlotte firefighters said they used sonar during their search.
