Triad -- After such a cool summer, things are finally heating up for the unofficial end of summer- Labor Day Weekend.
Our wind is coming in out of the south and that is keeping temperatures warm and humidity levels high through Monday. Sunday will be partly sunny with highs in the upper 80s. There is a 40% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
Labor Day Monday will be even more like summer. With partly cloudy skies, highs will be close to 90. There is a cold front coming this way. That won't cool the temps but it will bring an even better rain chance. There's a 50/50 chance of thunderstorms on the holiday.
By Tuesday, as we go back to work and school, rain chances scale back to 30% and temps drop back to the mid 80s.
The best weather of the week will come the second half. Wednesday through Friday will be sunny and less humid with highs in the low 80s.
