MAYODAN - With Sturm, Ruger and Company coming to the Triad.. the Rockingham County Board of Commissioners and the Mayodan Town Council will consider incentives for the firearms manufacturer.
Beginning in February of 2015, Proposed county incentives would average more than 67 thousand dollars per year over a 14 year period.
Proposed town incentives follow the same guidelines but would average nearly $61,000 each year.
The incentives are performance based, meaning the company must first meet investment and job targets before it receives incentive payments.
If the Company's investment and job targets are not met each year, the amount of the scheduled incentive payments will be reduced proportionately.
The incentives will be funded from the net new taxable value of Ruger's investment.
