GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A TGI Friday's in Greensboro is closed indefinitely after a fire Thursday afternoon.

Greensboro Firefighters were dispatched to TGI Friday's on Wendover Avenue around 12:38 p.m. after a fire started on the roof. Investigators said contractors were working on the roof when the fire started, but were unable to control it with a fire extinguisher.

A fire department spokesperson said the fire was contained to the roof, however all patrons and employees were evacuated.

The restaurant is closed and will not be allowed to reopen until the roof is fixed and the business undergoes a reinspection.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
