GREENSBORO - Undocumented immigrants in Greensboro can get ID cards at the Faith International House.
The cards are only meant to verify the person's identity, they are not official ID's and are not a license to drive. If an undocumented immigrant is pulled over, however, they will only get a ticket instead of facing jail time.
"Once I was a victim of a robbery on the street," said one ID holder. "We just had to stay quiet. We had to not call [the police] because we're just not sure what they are going to do to me."
The cards do not make undocumented immigrants legal citizens.
