Collettsville, NC-- North Carolina rescuers have recovered the body of a man who was swept away in a rain-swollen creek Saturday.
According to WBTV, the body of Juan Alberdi of Huntersville, NC who disappeared in Wilson's Creek was found around 7:00 p.m. He was found in the water below "lady on the Rock" area near where he was swept away, the station is reporting.
Caldwell County spokeswoman LouAnn Kincaid said the man and 10-year-old Delilah Lovette whose body was recovered Saturday evening were members of different families who had come from Charlotte to relax and swim in the Appalachian foothills creek.
Downstream in Catawba County, spokesman Jim Dickerson said crews were checking out reports that 130 homes and other buildings were damaged by a slow-moving rain system that dumped up to a foot of rain Saturday in some parts of Catawba, Lincoln and Cleveland counties.
