High Point, NC -- Downtown High Point has been filled with a blur of fast-moving bicycles as professional riders from across the country compete in the 2013 USA Cycling Professional Criterium National Championships.
A criterium, or crit, is a high-speed bike race in which riders and teams sped around a short course of closed downtown streets.
In High Point, the race started and finished at the Mendenhall Transportation Terminal.
The 4-day High Point Cycling Classic started July 25th and wraps Sunday, July 28th. Along with Saturday's racing, spectators can enjoy exhibitions by custom bicycle makers, bicycle movies, an art show gallery and a gallery featuring collectible vintage racing bikes.
