Raleigh, NC -- An Amber Alert for a 4-year-old Durham boy has been canceled.

Ari Yanitan Aguilar-Castillo was found safe and asleep by Durham police in the closet of his home, according to WRAL.

Police issued the alert for Ari around 2 am.  They initially said there was one abductor, who was unidentified. A description of the suspect was provided in the alert, but it is unclear how that person was connected to this incident.

A family member told WRAL that the boy was playing hide-and-seek when he fell asleep while hiding underneath a pile of clothes inside his mother's closet.

When Ari's family could not locate him, police searched the apartment before they decided to issue the alert, according to WRAL.

No other information was provided.
