Greensboro--Although we do not need the rain, more showers and thunderstorms are forecast in the new week.
The high pressure system that brought all the hot temperatures to much of the Eastern U.S. last week has moved of the North Carolina coast. It is now in a position to pump deep tropical moisture into our area. A stationary front is over Virginia, and a trough of low pressure is over the Piedmont of North Carolina.
The above pattern will combine to bring a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms to the area to this afternoon and again on Monday afternoon. There will some chance of showers each day this week.
The extra clouds will trim a few degrees off the high temperatures. Today's high will near 88, with a high of 86 on Monday and Tuesday.
Our normal high temperature is 88, and our normal low is 69.
