Greensboro--More wet weather will be with us this weekend before a pattern change allows the Piedmont to dry out and heat up next week.
We will have a 50% chance of showers today and a 40% chance on Sunday. The shower chance will decrease to a 30% chance for each day next week.
The Bermuda high pressure system has been in an ideal position off the North Carolina coast to pump deep tropical moisture over much of the East Coast.
Next week the high will retrograde or build westward over our area. This will force the deep moisture to spread into the Midwest with the greatest rainfall will be. The result will be drier and hotter weather for the Piedmont with only a 30% chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms through the week.
High temperatures will heat up into the upper 80's to around 90.
