Winston-Salem, NC -- Everyone deserves to have a little fun, and people with disabilities are no different.
Hundreds of people with special needs danced the night away at the 9th annual Accessible Festival Dance Party at the Ken Carlson Club in Winston-Salem.
The event was part of a day-long festival with food, games, bands, and magicians.
Organizers say events like this show we all have the same desires.
"We want people to understand that, although we might look different on the outside, inside we all just want the same thing which is to have a wonderful life and have a good time while we're here on this earth," said event organizer and Winston-Salem Transit Authority Marketing Director Tina Carson-Wilkins.
The Winston-Salem Transit Authority worked with several, local non-profits to put on the event.
