Burlington Police Find Robbery Suspect Lying In Street

Burlington, NC -- Police found a robbery suspect in Burlington lying in the street.

Officers said they were called to Daphne's Pantry Mini Mart on Rauhut Street shortly before 3 a.m., Tuesday. They were told the suspect, Franklin Devongia Gwynn, was lying in the middle of Shephard Street. 

Gwynn struggled with police while he was handcuffed, and hit one of the officers in the arm, according to the police department. 

The officer had a minor injury, but did not need to be treated.

Gwynn was charged with Breaking and Entering of Business, Felony Larceny, Resist Delay and Obstruct, Assault on Law Enforcement Officer. He was placed in the Alamance County Jail and issued a $10,000 secured bond.
