Winston-Salem, NC -- Charges are pending against four people who police in Winston-Salem say robbed a home before leading officers on a chase that ended outside of city limits.
Investigators said four men, ranging from 17- to 25-years-old, with guns broke into a home on Stagecoach Road around midnight, Wednesday. They said they demanded money and jewelry.
The people in the home told police the men left in a burgundy Ford Explorer. Officers said they found the vehicle driving on the on-ramp for US-52 S from University Parkway. They attempted to stop the Explorer, but the men took off and led police on a chase spanning Akron Drive, Glenn Avenue, Liberty Street and Old Walkertown Road.
Police said the chase continued into Walkertown. A deputy with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office used stop sticks to take the air out of the Explorer's tires. The chase came to a halt in the 3700 block of Leight Street, according to the police department.
Antonio Leverne Scales, 22; John Percy Bell, 23; Ronnie Levern Covington, 25; and a 17-year-old male were all arrested. Police said they are still investigating this incident and have not yet filed charges.
Investigators ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (336) 727-2800.
