Greensboro--After a bit of a break on Saturday with only isolated showers, rain chances will again be on the increase into the new weak.
The over all pattern has changed little over the East Coast. High pressure remains off the North Carolina coast. The system is in a perfect location to pump deep, tropical moisture into the Tennessee and Ohio Valley with the heaviest rain has been falling.
Here in the Piedmont, we remain in a rather tropical air mass as well. A new player in our well will be a slow moving upper-level low pressure that will track just to the north of the Triad through Tuesday. It is the main factor in our increase in rain chances.
We will have a 40% chance of mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms today with a high of 86. The chance of precipitation will increase to a 50% chance on Monday and Monday night.
