Greensboro, NC -- Jaxx Denny has captured a lot of hearts in the Triad. And now, you'll be able to see his remarkable progress first-hand.
Jaxx, the 2-year-old from Reidsville, was born without six ribs, without his right kidney and with an "S"-shaped spine.
On Friday night, Jaxx will throw out the first pitch at the Greensboro Grasshoppers game.
About a year and a half ago, Jaxx had his first surgery. His doctor used metal rods to rebuild his rib cage and straighten his spine.
On Monday, Jaxx and his parents, Pete and Tammy Denny, joined the Good Morning Show to talk about his progress.
"It's been amazing to watch him," said Tammy Denny.
When Jaxx had his first surgery, doctors said he would never be able to play contact sports.
"We wouldn't put anything past him now. We wouldn't be surprised if he did play them," said Pete Denny.
On Friday, the Hoppers play the Lakewood BlueClaws, the minor league team for the Philadelphia Phillies.
Pete Denny said it's ironic because Jaxx has spent his time in the hospital at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
The first pitch is at 7 p.m. at Newbridge Bank Park in downtown Greensboro.
