Raleigh, N.C. -- Gov. Pat McCrory is seeking a disaster declaration by the U.S. Small Business Administration to help storm victims in five North Carolina counties.
McCrory said Wednesday that he's seeking the declaration for damage caused June 13 in Anson, Cabarrus, Montgomery, Rowan and Union counties.
The disaster aid would make low-interest loans available so citizens and businesses to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. McCrory says initial reports indicate at least 33 homes and businesses had major damage and about 75 homes and businesses had minor damage.
