Greensboro, NC -- The Fun Fourth Parade & Festival is ready for a day of fun in downtown Greensboro. The annual Independence Day Celebration starts with a parade at 9:30 am followed by an all day street festival featuring live bands, great food, shopping and fun for all ages.
Showers moved across the Greensboro area early in the morning, but by 7:45 am the sun was out. Festival organizer Aislinn Spain said, "This is a rain or shine event, but I would rather it like this, with a chance of showers instead of a hot, humid day."

WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain spoke with the lead singer from the band Street Feat during their sound check. The local band has a huge following playing a mix of country and bluegrass. "We hope everybody comes out. It's going to be a great day in downtown Greensboro," they said.
WFMY News 2 Meteorologist Eric Chilton says there's a 50/50 chance of showers throughout the day, but it's not enough to stop the festival or force you to stay home. So come on out and have some fun!
The street festival runs from 10:00am to 6:30pm along Elm Street, Friendly Avenue and Davie Streets. Then head out to the Pops Concert and Fireworks at the White Oak Amphitheater at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.
