Greensboro, NC -- Police have identified the man who was found dead on a Greensboro parking lot Tuesday night.
Derrick Rogers, 21, was found by first responders after they were called to the 1300 block of Craven Street shortly after 9:30 pm, according to the police department.
Police said they are investigating Rogers's death as a homicide.
Detectives have not released information on how Rogers died because they do not want to interfere with the investigation.
But, what we do know is Rogers did have prior arrests. After a background check, WFMY News 2 learned Rogers had been arrested on assault, child abuse and drug charges over the past few years. This does not mean he was convicted in each case, but police did make arrests.
Eastern Division Patrol, CID, CSI and Mobile Command were all dispatched after Monday's incident was reported.
Police are still investigating this incident.
If you have information, call Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
Police representative Susan Danielsen says this is Greensboro's 15th murder of 2013.
