While corporations and columnists take sides in the Paula Deen scandal, an eight year old girl is defending her.
Deen admitted to using a racial slur 20 yers ago during a legal deposition.
8-year-old Kaya Johnson says she's been Paula Deen's biggest fan since they met when Kaya was just five years old.
"I was kinda sad that she said that," she said. "But when I talked to my mom...I realized that everybody makes mistakes."
Former president Jimmy Carter also supported the celebrity chef.
Sears and JC Penney joined the list of companies dropping her, though. That list also includes The Food Network, Target, Walmart, Smithfield Foods, Caesars, The Home Depot, QVC and her cookbook publisher.
