North Carolina is getting money to fight a potentially deadly disease.
North Carolina is one of 28 states receiving federal grants to deal with White-Nose Syndrome, a disease that affects bats.
The state was awarded $45,000. The grant money will support research, detection and response to the fatal disease. The money will also go towards monitoring bat populations.
The disease was first discovered in New York in 2006.
