Greensboro, NC -- After a two-day meeting, the Greensboro City Council finally passed its nearly $460 million budget.

Residents won't see any changes when it comes to property taxes, but a few fees will increase in the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

Water will increase by 3.5 percent, which comes out to an extra $1.29 each month. And, late parking ticket fees will increase from $25 to $35.

The decision, however, didn't come without some debate. Tuesday's city council meeting went past midnight, so council members had to reconvene Wednesday afternoon.

And with everything on the council's plate, some say the meetings should still move faster.

But, while the meetings might sometimes take longer than hoped, Mayor Robbie Perkins says the council has your best interest at heart, and that requires time and commitment to the issues.
