A Few Pockets Of Heavier Rain Possible In Triad Through The Afternoon

Greensboro, NC -- A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for all of the NEWS 2 viewing area through the afternoon.

Tropical Storm Andrea will track northeastward through Eastern N.C. Today. More showers associated with the storm will rotate through the Piedmont Triad. While the greatest threat for heavy rainfall is shifting into Virginia, there is still a chance of a few areas of heavier rain that cold lead to flash flooding. The flooding threat will decrease by late afternoon.

The NC Department of Transportation's Ferry Division has temporarily suspended normal operations on the Bayview-Aurora route due to high winds from Tropical Storm Andrea. Operations will resume as soon as it is safe to travel.

Winston Salem:  1.19"

Lewisville: 1.47"

Mt. Airy  1.75"

King: 1.13"

Wilkesboro:  .85"

Charlotte:  1.24"

Raleigh: 1.58"

Fayetteville: 3.70"

Wilmington: 2.38"
