Lexington, NC -- The driver of a speedboat who killed a pregnant mother and her 3-year-old son in a boating accident on High Rock Lake during Memorial Day weekend has been charged.
Michael Greene was charged with three counts of Involuntary Manslaughter, according to the Davidson County District Attorney's Office. Greene crashed his speedboat into a pontoon boat Saturday, May 25. Melissa Chambers Britt, her unborn child and Jaiden Britt died; her brother, Michael Chambers, was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for severe head trauma. Also on the pontoon boat was William Clayborn Britt, Melissa's husband, who was not injured.

Greene surrendered himself to the Davidson County courthouse Monday afternoon where he was issued a $50,000 bond. The DA's office expects Greene will post bond.
Greene's court date has not been set. The DA's office said the investigation is continuing.
