Shelby, NC -- A roadway was closed after two tractor-trailers collided near Shelby.
State troopers say a tractor-trailer carrying a load of toilet paper was headed east at about 4 a.m. Friday when it ran off the road and struck a guardrail.
The truck then crossed over into the westbound lanes and was struck by a second tractor-trailer. The driver of the second truck was injured.
Fire department officials poured sand to contain a diesel fuel spill.
Authorities are still investigating, and troopers said Highway 74 west of Shelby would likely be closed most of the day Friday while crews cleaned up the crash site.
