Gibsonville, NC -- The funeral for the Gibsonville police chief, who died from a heart attack while mowing his lawn Friday, is being held Wednesday.
Mike Woznick's funeral is scheduled for 10 am at the First United Methodist Church at 303 N. Main St. in Graham.
A visitation for family, friends and community members was held Tuesday.
Woznick, a 28-year veteran of law enforcement, began his career at the Gibsonville Police Department in May 1999. Before Gibsonville, Woznick worked for the Elon, Graham and Bell Haven police departments and was also a reserve deputy with the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.
Once he joined the force in Gibsonville, Woznick rose through the ranks as a patrol officer, K-9 officer, investigator, staff sergeant and captain before taking over as chief in 2007.
Chief Woznick is survived by his son, Michael, and fiance, Angel.
