Burlington, NC -- A sex offender from Burlington was arrested Monday for his activity on a social network and failing to register his new address with the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they received a tip April 1 that Brandon William Johnson, 22, was on an unnamed social network. Investigators reviewing the evidence found Johnson allegedly failed to notify the sheriff's office of other online accounts.

Upon Johnson's arrest, deputies said they learned he had not lived at his last registered address in more than a month and didn't notify them of a change in residence.

Johnson was charged with one count of Sex Offender on Social Network, two counts of Fail to Register Online Identifier and one count Fail to Register New Address. He was issued a $50,000 secured bond.
