Triad -- Spring in the Triad could mean anything from chilly temps to severe weather to extreme heat. We will luck out this Mother's Day Sunday with a seasonably cool forecast.
A cold front is going to move through the Triad tonight. That means there could be showers or a thunderstorm through the first part of the night. While severe weather is unlikely, any of the cells could produce heavy rain, gusty winds and small hail.
Sunday will be a beautiful Mother's Day after the front moves through in the early morning hours. The day should be mostly sunny with highs close to 70- a bit cooler than Saturday. It will also be breezy at times, with occasional gusts up to 25 mph.
The core of the cool air will be in place Monday and Tuesday. Highs both afternoons will be in the 60s. However it will still be sunny both days.
Another warm up will begin on Wednesday when highs return to the upper 70s. We could be back in the low 80s by Thursday.
