Greensboro--A cold front will arrive in the Piedmont later this afternoon. The front along with afternoon heating will bring a 50% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms between 2pm and 10pm tonight.
A few isolated strong or severe thunderstorms are possible that would contain damaging winds and hail along with frequent lightning.
The cold front will move east of the Triad by late evening. This will bring an end to the the showers before midnight. The sky will remain mostly cloudy in to early Sunday morning.
Mother's Day looks nice. Mom will enjoy a mix of sun and clouds with a high near 73.
Cool and drier air will filter into the area Sunday night and early next week. With sunshine, high temperatures on Monday will be in the mid 60's and in the upper 60's on Tuesday. Morning lows Monday and Tuesday morning will cool into the low and mid 40.s
