Winston-Salem, NC - The news of the three missing women rescued in Cleveland, OH is hitting close to home for Deborah Smith.
Smith is the mother of Dedrick Smith, who went missing on October 2, 2006.
"I'm still keeping hope alive," said Smith.
In 2012, a billboard when up in Winston-Salem to draw more attention to Dedrick's disappearance.
Seven years later, the family still searches with no leads or clues. But the determined mother said seeing the three women rescued in Cleveland, OH has increased her sense of hope.
"I did watch when they were found the girls and I was like man that was awesome. So, if it worked for them. I know it can work for me. That's encouraging. Yea, that's encouraging and I will never give up hope."

Smith says she uses her faith in God to continue to keep the strength. She told WFMY News 2, everyday she looks at strangers, hoping one will be her son.
